Bulbs for sale

Would you like to enjoy these gorgeous heirloom bulbs in your own backyard? The Hortus Bulborum offers a very limited number of bulb samplers for sale. These samplers will be shipped at the beginning of October.

Historic bulbs (tulips only) are also available, albeit on a limited scale, in Europe through Present Garden, www.presentgarden.nl or Peter C. Nijssen, www.pc-nijssen.nl, both located in the Netherlands. Two different samplers
The bulb samplers from the Hortus Bulborum come in two varieties: Pre-1900 tulips from the Hortus Bulborum (Sampler A) and Tulips from the Hortus Bulborum (Sampler B). The first sampler contains fifty bulbs, the second one hundred. Both contain a very unique selection of tulips. The contents of these samplers change every year slightly, depending on the harvest of the collection. It is a unique opportunity to embellish your garden, terrace or patio with these unequalled bulbous jewels. These heirloom bulbs are not for sale at any of the regular garden centres. Stock is limited to a few dozen packages per year. They are sold out in no time. “Who comes first, runs first,” as the old Dutch proverb says, so it is highly recommended to place your order at your earliest convenience to be sure to have it entered in time.

Both samplers cost € 100 (approximately US$ 135). Postage and package included. Samplers can be ordered thru cash payments by personal calls at the garden during the opening season of the Hortus Bulborum (April 6 – May 16) or by advance payment on account no. 33.64.21.842 of Stichting Hortus Bulborum, Limmen (The Netherlands), BIC: RABONL2U, IBAN: NL17 RABO0336421842. Duc van Tol
The second collection contains bulbs from the oldest tulip to more recent varieties. In each there is always an esteemed member of the ‘Duc van Tol family’, some eighteenth- and nineteenth-century tulips, as well as some twentieth-century tulips that are no longer or very rarely in commercial production these days.
